PP Foods obtains Food Safety and Standards Authority of India Certification (FSSAI)

FSSAI

The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India, also known as FSSAI, has been established under Food Safety and Standards, 2006 which consolidates various acts & orders that have hitherto handled food related issues in various Ministries and Departments. It has been created for laying down science based standards for articles of food and to regulate their manufacture, storage, distribution, sale and import to ensure availability of safe and wholesome food for human consumption.

The Act also aims to establish a single reference point for all matters relating to food safety and standards, by moving from multi- level, multi- departmental control to a single line of command. To this effect, the Act establishes an independent statutory Authority – the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India with head office at Delhi. Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) and the State Food Safety Authorities shall enforce various provisions of the Act.

After making changes in old food laws and bringing out more stringent regulations and rules with FSSAI has resulted in the increased safety of the food consumers and owners. The law came into strict consideration due to many controversies including the famous Maggi Noodles fiasco

PP Foods – A Rice Processing Unit promoted by the Shah Family, has been assessed and determined to comply with the requirements of Food Safety System Certification. The certificate is applicable for the scope of Manufacturing of Rice Grits & Rice Flour. PP Foods has set up Rice Milling factory at MIDC Ranjangaon , Pune with an objective to meet the growing requirements of the snacks industry.

With an FSSAI License, PP Foods intents to spread awareness to its consumers about the quality of food which they eat. The products are free of contamination, adulteration and prepared keeping in mind the health conscious nature of today’s consumers. The primary objective of FSSAI License Registration is to regulate and supervise food safety for the benefit of the public at large. To make sure that only superior quality goods are processed and delivered, PP Foods has its own laboratory and a team of professionals who regularly conduct a series of tests in all the phases of production. With FSSAI License, PP Foods has ensured increased safety in the short as well as in the long run for its valuable consumer base.
