Rice has been an evitable part of our meal since decades & it provides a lot of health benefits. Rice is rich in fiber, is gluten free and enhances liver functioning. There are many ways we can include rice into our daily meal & gain the nutrition it provides. Rice is a good option to consume for the people who are looking for a substitute or trying to avoid wheat flour or gluten. Below are a few foodstuffs that are made out of rice flour and are filled with nutrition and fiber.
Modak – It is a type of sweet made out of rice flour with fillings of grated coconut, jaggery and crushed dry fruits. Modaks are considered rich in nutrition, fiber, potassium and fiber.
Rice Flour Roti – Many dietitians advice to consume a rice flour roti, commonly known as bhakri for people who are allergic to gluten products and need rich amount of fiber. This roti can be eaten in any daily meal with sabji or daal. It also helps to curb weight as compared to the wheat roti consumed by a large chunk of the Indian population.
Ukad – This is a type of food majorly prepared by Maharashrians. It includes rice flour, yogurt, turmeric and other spices. It is mainly consumed as a breakfast item and provides high amount of fiber and energy to get you going for the busy day ahead.
Khichu – It is a gluten free and vegan steamed breakfast food. Khichu is made from rice flour and look like a savory donut. This dish is consumed as a heavy breakfast item with masala tea.
Malabar Style Ney Pathiri Recipe – It is a dish from Kerala which is fried masala rice puri made out of Pathiri that is made using rice flour and is cooked and deep fried on griddle.
Kashmiri Chhir Chot – It is an authentic delicacy from Kashmir that looks like pancake and is prepared using rice flour and ajwain seeds. It is a very tasty dish and is easy to make. This delicacy can be made in a very less time and is filled with nutrition and fiber.
